February has been known as Black History Month every since Carter G. Woodson created Negro History Week in Washington, D.C., in 1926. Woodson was the second African American to earn a PhD in history from Harvard University. The month of February was chosen because it contains the birthdays of both former president Lincoln, and Frederick Douglass. Diversity is such an important aspect in not just business, but in general. At 212 Partners, we celebrate diversity and are eager to learn more this month.
